About Me

Hi, my name is Megan (she/her).  I am a twin mom plus 1, as well as many animals (2 dogs, 6 cats).  We are living the rural life in beautiful Saskatchewan on Treaty 6 territory, I am committed to learning more about the treaty and the original peoples of this land as we work together on the path to reconciliation. We are all treaty people.

I have had quite a few jobs in my lifetime from a clothing store merchandiser to a certified diesel mechanic, but one thing I had always wanted to do was work from home and offer something that I made. I have been “fixing” for most of my life; cars, houses, clothing. It’s the only thing that seems to have come naturally to me, these skills have been honed over many years through both formal training and trial and error. I also love to sketch and have incorporated that into my work in the form of designing. All designs are by me, there’s no Pinterest or google searches, the items that I create are fully my own from sketching them out 1000 times, to sourcing materials, wood working, sewing, painting... you get it. It’s all me from start to finish!

PoplarLane Home was born out of my passion to reuse, rebuild, and re-purpose things that may otherwise be discarded.  In my own home this has been going on for many years in the form of shelving, hooks, decor, to straight up demolishing and rebuilding everything but the exterior walls.  As my children grow I continue to be inspired to build fun, functional, neutral items that offer comfort and creativity to their developing minds.  I am also passionate about timeless home decor, not one to be wasteful I like to offer items that will outlast the trends.

Since starting this business as “CanvasMOON” in 2018, I have also discovered a love for local and for supporting other small business owners through my platform. I am so excited to begin offering a curated selection of my favourite things from other Canadian small shops that I hope you will enjoy. These items are a collection of things I love and use in my own home, whether  they are ethically made, eco friendly, or just plain cozy, I am all about sharing the love and creating a joyful, warm, and sustainable home.

I hope you will enjoy these items as much as I have enjoyed creating, building, and curating them for you.

From my family home to yours,

Thank you for joining me on this journey!

 ♥️

Megan
